A beautiful room but a bit inconsistent with service.
I arrived at 2.05pm. Reception was unattended but there were dozens of suitcases scattered around the area. They were mostly in the confines of the desk area but it looked really untidy just sitting around everywhere, not to mention a potential security issue. When a man finally arrived he said I was too early, but he gave me a voucher for a free drink at the restaurant which was a lovely gesture. He also offered to store my bag while I waited out the hour and took my number to call when the room was ready.
It got to 2.45 and I hadn’t heard anything. At 2.55 I went back to reception and noticed that my bag was not in a storage area as I had hoped, but sitting on its own AWAY from the desk area, near a wall on the way to the lifts. Quite concerning really. Photo attached, I couldn’t believe it was just sitting there.
The staff were polite but confusing. I was asked if I was here to check in when I queried the status of my room, and the guest next to me got asked his room number when he was also checking in. Felt like maybe a bit of inattentiveness? She told me breakfast was until 10, corrected it to 10.30, but I’ve now been told this morning it’s 10. She gave me my key and when I asked about my bag sitting there, she went over with me to double check and said “oh yea this is your bag.” No apology or acknowledgment of the bag being left on its own.
So a nice room that was let down by staff inconsistencies.
