The room was very pretty and had a great view. The resort was walkable and close to the beach. Very clean.

Family Beach getaway

Excellent location and amenities, on the beach and family friendly. Considering the COVID-19 staff and management did their very best to provide a pleasant staying experience.

Not worth the money or hassle!

I had high hopes that this hotel would be awesome. Everyone always says it's one of the best and its so family friendly. Well its not. Its not just a hotel, its like a whole community and everything is in different areas. It's super confusing and when you ask the staff questions they talk to you like you live there like you know what they are even saying. We have small children and I assumed when I booked the hotel I would be staying in the hotel with easy pool and beach access. NOPE. We stayed in a sub hotel across the street and parking lots and had to trek over to the main hotel for everything. Then they close everything early because of Covid. No restaurant after 5pm, no pool at 7pm, no ice cream shop open at all. My kids were pretty upset. No one answers the phone, the service and wait times for anything were terrible. The pool closed at 7 but it was still sunny for another one and half so we went to the beach and left our bags at the pool assuming you would walk back up grab them and go to your room. NOPE. they LOCK the beach access gate so you can't get back up from the beach. We had to jump the gate because we couldn't find any other way back to the hotel. Then when we got to our stuff the gate of the pool to the boardwalk up to the hotel was locked too! I mean what sense does that make! All in All, this hotel ruined my quick get away with my friend and our kids because it was so stressful with little ones trying to navigate a "hotel" with lots of walking and no food.

Don't bother.....

Wild Dunes was not worth the trip. The hotel is in dire condition, there is tons of construction that was not revealed to us prior to stay. The elevator didn't work, there was no hot water, the food was awful and the service was lackluster. Our waiter at the restaurant was great, but other than that it was no where near a 4 star hotel. We also played golf and the course was not well maintained. Cart paths were in serious need of repair, no sand in the traps and the houses on the course all had signs that said no tresspassing. We left after 9 holes.

Wild Dunes is a beautiful resort. This is our second time staying here and we really enjoy it. The only negative for this stay was that none of the shops and restaurants were open. To me this is part of what makes this place a resort and not a hotel. The resort fee should have been waived or greatly reduced.

Some of the worst experience in my life when it comes to hotel stay. I do not understand any of the positive reviews. Covid was their excuse for all of their sloppy work . I am doctor and travel as a speaker throughout the world and haven’t seen such a poor service 1. They charge you 59 $ for resort fee but no amenities open , their pools reserved (because of Covid ) for next two months, so I could not go to any pool with my little son through our stay , restaurants closed except bar serving wings and hamburgers, they have after certain hours “food truck “ as the only food service in what they claim four star hotel. When I called (and got somebody on the phone four days later ) and complained about unjustified resort fee they said “ this is what we charge and can’t do anything about that” 2. Covid precautions throughout resort are fine , but their air filters in the room are dirty (have pic ) and therefore contradict any other efforts throughout the resort 3. Air conditioning system is dated and very loud, could not sleep in the room throughout the stay 4. One of the Covid precautions is no cleaning or anything else done in the room through the whole stay , if you request , they will Leave you towels in the plastic bag . Hard to stay in the room and go to The beach daily without any room care throughout the week . 5. Staff was absolutely disinterested to any request and decimated .

Disappointing Resort

The staff was friendly and helpful. The resort in general was an incredible disappointment. I was charged resorts fees in the total amount of $232.96 over 4 nights stay. These resort fees are intended to supplement for full resort features, however the resort lacked almost the entirety of these features. The entire resort dining facilities (and all walking distance facilities) were unavailable with the exception of a single pool lounge. The pool was restricted to a 20% capacity. Maid service was not allowed to clean rooms due to "covid restrictions???!!" I understand that Covid-19 has resulted in difficulties in the industry, however you advertised these features as available AND charged me the resort fee in its entirety. This is a complete failure on the part of this resort and quite unlike my past experiences with the Hyatt brand. I recommend that if your choice is this area, look beyond the immediate resort.
