Red Lion Hotel Boise Downtowner

The hotel and stay in its entirety was mediocre. The staff was either asleep or focused on something other than getting you registered. The rooms are outdated, beds are uncomfortable, and the pillows no longer have a shape. Because of COVID, there was no housekeeping. I had to call and ask to get more towels on a 6 day stay and have the trash removed. Housekeeping came in on day 5 and made the bed with the same linens... no vacuum was ran or surfaces wiped. It became uncomfortable by day 3. The walls are dirty. Underneath the bed hadn’t seen a broom, mop, or vacuum in a long time. The towels are coarse, by no means something I’d want to use on my body long term. They apparently rent half of their rooms to a charity so there’s often stray people out and about, but the police department is around the corner. I was disappointed overall, but we sucked it up since our focus was seeing different places. Luckily, sleeping and showering was the only time we spent in the room. It was alright to get us by, but I wouldn’t stay again at this location even if ‘free’ was an option.

The Red Lion hotel in downtown Boise has turned into “The Projects”! They are literally renting out most of the hotel to a church that is housing people without homes. This was very unsettling! Campers and trailers are in the parking lot for housing also. Everything from trash bags outside the doors to caution tape draped to block off areas! All services (restaurant, bar, sitting area) at the hotel are closed and tarps hung or caution tape used to block them off. How can this hotel be given a 3 1/2 star rating?!!! BUYER BEWARE!!

Staff were very friendly. The condition of the hotel is run down, outdated and not very clean and sanitized. The front door and handle to my room was filthy as were all other doors adjacent to my room. Inside the room the floor was dirty and so were the doors and handles to the bathroom. The mattress was lumpy and the room had a dingy, dirty smell to it. Not fresh at all. The furnace was loud and either blew very warm air or very cool air. The entire property lacks cleanliness, order and freshness. Very dreary and outdated to include the parking lot.

Very helpful and efficient staff, when we needed them. Smooth and easy check-in and check-out. Great views, quiet rooms.

The room was very clean, the staff was very friendly. However, the halls didn't appear clean and the carpet is all coming up. Had a 3 night stay for 1 but only had 2 wash cloths and the front desk could not provide a 3 but did provide a hand towel. Not sure the reason for the wash cloth shortage. On the web site I saw there was an outside pool but didn't know there was a hot for use or I would have brought a suite and utilized it...a bit disappointed I couldn't. For the price, I'd stay there again.

This red lion us very dated. Friendly staff. Room was clean but far from spotless. Coffee maker qas broken . Nice size tv and good amount of channels. Paid for the upgraded breakfast, but with covid they clised the kitchen and had a very week selection. This should be advertised as current situation and be free uf thus us what you get. Ok for the the cost

Clean, very comfortable bed. Will stay again!

Close to downtown lots of restaurants and bars Uber works just great and only 10 minutes to airport
