Comfort Suites South Padre Island

I really liked that they gave us a small bottle of hand sanitizer at check-in. There was a smell in the hallway, but the room was fine. There was nothing nice about the room- very outdated, rusty fridge, missing basboard, a piece of blue tape was over the peep hole, the tub leaked a little. However, I didnt feel it was dirty or gross. It was economical and got the job done. I liked that we had private beach access. So, if you just need a basic and affordable place that your pet is welcome at, it's a good place to stay at. Just don't expect anything fancy.

The hotel personnel and service was good with handling the situation. However, the room had large red stain on the carpet and tiny red stains in shower. Seemed more like nail polish but still uneasy to have to see. Hotel needs true remodeling really. Not a full renovation. There is no ocean view don’t think to pay extra for that.

Nice hotel. The only service that was a disappointment was the wifi. Very slow.

Cockroaches! Moved to another room about 3am and woke up to more cockroaches!

I didn't like that I paid extra to have a ocean facing balcony room and they literally gave me the worse balcony from the entire hotel on top of the front entrance rooftop. I politely asked the front desk to honor my request and they would not since I got it off Expedia. Never again.

Our sink leaked which left all towels on the counter soaked. No compliance with Covid guidelines. Breakfast is cold sandwiches you have to heat. The rooms are not comfortable temperature wise. Too hot or too cold. No comfortable middle ground. The shower head was difficult to use and dripped our so I just skipped my shower. The carpets stink, my entire family woke up with allergy issues in the morning. If you just need a place to sleep - this will work. But for having the top floor and not being able to see the beach really kinda blows. Being between a McDonald’s and a larger hotel wasn’t as much fun. It’s about a 5minute walk to get to the beach from the hotel. So that nice little bridge you see is how you get out there. Pluses. It’s pet friendly and if you don’t care about Covid this is the place for you!

They have cockroaches bad. They where in the microwave and running around on the night stand.

It was only one night stay but worth it. Close to restaurants and the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

The front desk lady was rude and unaccommodating from the beginning. Check-in was at 3:30 PM and we got in at 5:00 PM thinking we would get our rooms immediately. We were told we had to wait 30 minutes until our rooms were ready. When I tried using the WiFi for work, it was below subpar. I felt like I was in a rural spot in Mexico trying to use my phone. When we went to the front desk with the same lady, she told us to call a number instead of helping us with the WiFi. This place goes for $250 a night, but it feels more like a Motel 6. There are no blankets, just thin sheets on the bed. The room has NOTHING to make it a grade level above a Motel 6. I would go to a Motel 6 next time before going to this place again.

The surrounding beach is what made the hotel worth staying in. The room was ok, but I don't think the bedding was completely clean because I think I felt sand in my bed. During our entire stay they had blowers in the hallway and it smelled like you were at a zoo mixed with the smell of mold and mildew. The last day of our stay the elevator broke and we had to carry all our luggage and items down 4 flights of stairs.
