Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa

Fabulous weekend break at the Aghadoe Height Hotel. Staff were very efficient and friendly and the food was excellent. The rooms were very spacious & spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel.

Loved this hotel! Definitely worth paying extra for the lakeview rooms, we had a twin and it was very spacious with two lovely armchairs to sit and look out at the amazing view. The staff were all lovely and felt very safe re Covid regulations, the hotel was spotless! Food was delicious!

Beautiful hotel and a lovely stay. The room was comfortable and the view of the lake was stunning. My only issues were related to current Covid 19 guidelines. I was shocked that guests were specifically told they did not need to wear masks around the hotel/in the bar and restaurant. They should be asked to wear a face covering when not sitting/eating just like in other enclosed spaces. I was pleased to see waiting staff were wearing visors/masks. Similarly, when staff came to our room to help us, I expected them to wear a face covering or at least keep 2 metres distance but they did not. Staff were very pleasant and helpful but perhaps management should provide better guidelines for them to follow. These may seem like minor issues but given for example the fact that the spa was closed due to health and safety concerns, you would expect the more basic guidelines surrounding face coverings to be adhered to. I understand the goal is probably to make people forget what’s going on in the world but I simply expected better standards from a 5 star hotel.

To begin with: it was not a 5-star hotel experience, more like a 3. The room we were given was average. The windows were covered with window-film, which I found unpleasant. The pool, gym, and jacuzzi were outdated. There was something that feels like sand at the bottom of the pool and jacuzzi, which made us feel highly uncomfortable. Are they being cleaned? Also, one of the bathrobes provided to us was torn. This is not at all a big deal, but it is a part of the experience. You can see that they are careful with the Covid-19 situation, but the porter may jump on the elevator with you that clearly states "max 2 people" :) There were no sun loungers at the pool area probably due to Covid-19. They also had a booking system for restaurant, café, and pool to make sure they comply with the regulations. It was satisfying. The food was good in general. However, the steak my partner ordered from the restaurant was a bad cut (I never saw him leaving the meat in the plate before) - you would not expect that while you are fine-dining. However, the staff at the restaurant were exceptional. They put a smile on our faces, and we were very satisfied at the end. In short, brilliant staff, but it is not a 5-star hotel experience. Next time, I'll consider staying at another place, but will go back there for food.

We really enjoyed everything about our stay from the moment we arrived until we checked out. Because of Covid 19 regulations there were obviously differences but the hotel staff just made everything ‘normal’ and relaxing and stress free. I didn’t realise just how much I needed ‘ normal’ until I arrived.

The staff as always are exemplary. Nothing is a trouble for them. Our room had a magnificent view- but more than that. The bed was very comfortable, all our needs were already catered for ie fruit & water in the room. The bathroom was great, a huge bath & separate shower. Lovely voya products.

just simply one of the nicest hotels in Kerry to stay !. Lovely atmosphere and so relaxing !!!

Great service, great location and a relaxed and comfortable stay. Food is good, but for the price it could up its game.

Lovely view. Staff very good. Spa very nice. Food was disappointing.
