Superb, convenient and comfortable.

Nice hotel. Beware that courtyard rooms are not in the nice old hotel, instead they are in a modern courtyard at the back. Aircon unit couldn’t be turned off, and was noisy all night. Turns out courtyard rooms a favoured by those other guests who like to smoke all night!

The room we had was in the main hotel and it was really nicely decorated and very clean. The communal areas were lovely and cosy. Hand sanitiser everywhere, good social distancing. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was tasty. Parking is only for about 6 cars, so don't expect to get a space. However, free on street parking is available on Knavesmire Rd, approx 5 min walk away. Or if you park after 4.30 pm you can park on the adjacent street for free until 8am. I would not hesitate in returning.

Everything was perfect if get a chance definitely will go back.

Nice place to stay meals were very nice Had to ask for clean towels tea coffee and milk etc as the rooms were cleaned when you left the hotel to go home. Hand sanitisers around the hotel and face masks to be worn Staff were lovely On a scale of 10 would give an 8.

Old building with great character. Very clean, lovely decor & the tiles in the bathroom are lovely - Art Deco Very little parking, first come etc but a couple of streets away is plenty. 15 min walk to town. Breakfast was lovely.

Lovely hotel, beautifully refurbished and a great price

I stayed at the hotel two years ago and I decided to come back last week. The reception was great and really helpful. They provide us with a bigger room. The room was great but it was a bit dusty. The bed was amazingly comfortable. We stayed for 2 days, the first morning we had breakfast and the stuff was a bit slow (20 minutes waiting for 2 coffees and a orange juice),but the next day they were really fast and they did a great service. Breakfast is really good, it is really worthy. We could leave the luggage after check out until quiet late in the afternoon. In general it is a great place, it need to be a bit careful about cleaning but in general it was amazing. I really love this hotel.

Room was lovely, we were in the lodge attic room and unfortunately no lift so about 7 flights of stairs to get up. Breakfast was lovely if a little expensive. Staff were friendly and the Friday morning breakfast staff only 1 lad was doing everything the others not working as hard. Comfortable bed and bath to die for. Would stay again.

Hotel was lovely, however we were annoyed about the lack of parking. One of the main reasons we booked was due to parking, although we understand that parking was first come first served, we arrived in the morning and went back again later to be just told there was no parking still. There were around 6 spaces which were probably used by staff. We believe you shouldn’t advertise parking if it is not going to be readily available for customers
