Hyatt Place Boise/Towne Square

I booked this last minute for a trip into Boise. I booked this room, because they were pet friendly. When I went to check in, their version of pet friendly was a $75 fee. After saying I didn’t see that on your website, they said they are not responsible for hotel.coms listings. They opted to drop the fee down to $50 or cancel my reservation. I found other arrangements for my pet. After checking into the room, it looked and smelled clean, remote was in a plastic bag. I’m not sure I understand the point of putting a remote in a plastic bag, just maybe clean the remote? How do I know the bag was new? Anywho... after moving into the bedroom, the bed was comfortable, pillows were small yet firm. The sheet had holes in it from, what looks like cigarette burns. Bathroom had a shower that looks like it was converted from a bathtub. It was very small, and I kept hitting my elbow on the bar. After going out for dinner I came back to wanting to play video games, but the inputs control next to the tv didn’t work, after doing some investigating, it discovered it was unplugged. I moved the tv over a bit to plug it in, only to discover that there was only 2 outlets, 1 to the TV and one that had a label on it that said if I unplug this, there will be a 75 fee. It appeared to be come kinda TV anti theft device. Not sure what a Hyatt would have that, that is some airport Motel 6 crap.

We stayed for six nights and the staff, though limited by the current situation were very helpful. The room was very clean and well kept. Overall a very remarkable stay.

Staff was so friendly!!!! Rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable!

We checked in early for $10 more. Room was great! Needed to ask for bedding for the sofa bed. First night the fire alarm sounded at 3:04 AM and fire trucks rush so that was loud. People in the hallways were super loud during the false alarm. Second day we get a note under our door that the hot water pump was malfunctioning and we had no hot water. Nothing like a cold shower to start the day.

It was dirty and smelled like smoke. We even switched rooms and it still smelled.

I was really unhappy because I received an email from the hotel staff letting me know that the pool and gym facilities were closed and that the continental breakfast was still an option, but in pre-packed boxes. When we arrived WITHOUT our swimsuits, we were then informed that the pool was available

The Hyatt Place is always a great place to stay. They took COVID very seriously, which was nice to see. I accidentally went to the downtown location first, and they were not following any COVID protocols.

Even though this is a non-smoking hotel, my room had the distinct smell of having been a smoking room. There were several large stains on the carpet and furniture. The cabinet trim around the fridge was broken and sticking out several inches.

The room was great, bed was pretty uncomfortable compared to outher places I’ve stayed at & there wasn’t enough soap, could’ve asked but didn’t feel like walking back downstairs
