After coming to Ventura for 2 nights every week, I decided to try Clocktower Inn as I was familiar with the restaurant attached and it’s in a neighborhood I know.
I liked the fact that the hallways to the rooms are accessible only by using your room key. As a single woman traveling, I like the safety factor.
The room was a little small. Queen bed, a desk (with the hardest wooden chair!) a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and tv. There was a wooden chair with leather seat and back which was somewhat more comfy than the Spanish colonial style wooden chair mentioned earlier. Oh there was also a round wooden table back in the corner between the bed and the windows. Not very convenient for setting water or coffee or phone while in bed. A small nightstand would have been better.
The decor is Spanish colonial style which I do appreciate. However, since it’s starting to get cold at night, the red tile floors are quite chilly on bare feet. Bring slippers! Luckily the unit had decent heat and air. Bed was comfortable but the pillows are “durable” (hard).
The breakfast buffet was standard, but no hot proteins. Waffle maker, hot and cold cereal, fruit bowl, yogurt. Didn’t see decaf coffee at the buffet. I bring my instant decaf and they had hot water for tea so all was good.
I got a discount on the room from Hotels.com so I gave it a shot. I would recommend this place, but have my favorite I’ll probably go back to.
