Free cruise shuttle, cheap but run down, goodstaff
A quick one night stay before going on our cruise. We chose this hotel because they offer free shuttle to the port. You just let them know that you need a shuttle to the port, how many people, day, time, and which ship. It was really easy and they’re really close to the port, a little over a 5 min drive. As for the hotel itself… Pros: - quick and easy check-in - inexpensive - walking distance to food, coffee, gas stations, CVS, etc. - felt safe - good customer service - friendly staff - room was clean - free shuttle to the port Cons: - old and run down - Felt like a cash cow, seems like bare minimum done on upkeep/maintenance. - On a main/busy street so constant traffic noise. (I’m not a light sleeper, nor am I a heavy sleeper.) Overall, the hotel itself was a no frill or thrill hotel. If your standards are low and you just need an inexpensive, clean place to sleep, this is the place. A plus is the free shuttle to the port if you’re going on a cruise. The only other negative thing I came across during my one night stay was hearing someone making a complaint at 1am. After hours, the main reception area is locked and a side window of the reception area is used for service. My room (104) was on the ground level at the end of the ramp from the reception area side window so it was loud enough to wake me up. No yelling but the person was speaking in a loud voice. I never heard the staff person. After about 10 minutes or so, they left.

Vagabond Inn Pleasant Stay
The hotel was clean and well kept. Our room was spacious. The staff was friendly and very helpfull. They gave us a room with a view of the cruise port, so we could watch the cruise ships come and go, and see ours before we departed. They were very courteous and helpful with all our luggage. The complimentary ride to our cruise ship went very well. The oversized van was perfect to handle all our luggage and my mobility scooter. It was clean, and he even put down a step to help me get in. They picked us up at the agreed time, dropped us off at the cruise port. As we were being unloaded, I received a phone call that my roommate had left a bag at the hotel. They promptly went back and brought it to us. Very nice experience.

Dated but for one night before embarkation is fine
This hotel definitely needs an update. We picked this place because of location to the cruise port, plus it offers free shuttle. We would stay here again next time if we are embarking out of LA. There are few fast food restaurants within walking distance. I would avoid KFC, just my opinion.

4/10 Fair

Run away and run far.
No ice the whole time we were there. Had to walk 2 blocks to buy ice and they would not reimburse for the ice. We got booked and billed for 2 rooms instead of the one, they would not reimburse for the 2nd room even though I told them at check in there was a mistake and only needed 1 room. Booked a kin deluxe and got a double standard. Beds were soft and worn out. Only thing good about this stay was the free shuttle to the cruise port.

Not worth your time or money, go elsewhere
The place is run down to the ground. Parking is terrible, location is terrible and noisy. We heard people coming and going allll night long. Parking lot seemed unsafe and so did the area. I slept about 43 mins out of the 6hrs we were in bed. Shower was old and broken down, stained and scratched and i used my blacklight and it lit up. Beds are super hard and uncomfortable, rooms are cold, sink was busted, toilet barely flushed, paint peeling, dusty, mirrors were messed up, everything was old. We felt very unsafe staying there and wouldn't ever stay there again. We cruise a lot out of San Pedro/Long Beach and after a 6.5 hr drive, to have to walk into a room like that in an area like that, def leaves a bad taste in your mouth, but that's merely my opinion. I myself, will pay 30.00 extra and stay at a nicer, bigger chain. You can park your car there for a trip for 10.00 a day and they shuttle you to the port, but you're on your own to get back to the hotel after you disembark. We parked our vehicle at the dock, because there was no way in heck, we were leaving it in that lot, on that property, in that neighborhood.

Decent stay
Good enough for an overnight before boarding a cruise ship. Shuttle service is nice but runs slowly. Elevator was out of service but the kind front desk gentleman helped carry the larger bags.

This hotel was not fancy but was worth the cost. While it was not fancy it was clean and the staff were great.. it's location is very good with lots of food choices and stores. It is located near the cruise port which was our reason for staying there. The shuttle to the ship was an unexpected bonus. We would stay there again.

We stayed there one night and as far as the hotel its self was clean and staff was great. I would definitely ask for a room away from the road because the noise was terrible. Didn't get a lot of sleep because of it till around 4:am. the plus side is saved money on Parking our car there while we cruised, good price. Got a shuttle to the cruise port. Would have been better if they offered one back.
