Disappointing all around.
Check in time is late (4PM) while the check out time is standard (11AM). My room was almost $600/night and I was surprised that it did NOT include free parking ($50.00 if you want an overnight pass) or breakfast (you can buy coffee and snacks). I went to ask the hotel for a parking pass, was told it would be $50.00 and went back to a $50.00 parking ticket (was gone 5 min).
My friend stayed at the Holiday Inn Express with free parking, breakfast, and even I got a free cookie just visiting them. I thought that was standard for hotels, but not the Asbury.
The room was tiny, not the cleanest, and a bit worn. The bed was a bit lumpy. They had water bottles but no coffee or tea in the room. The bathroom was clean and looked nice but the water pressure for the shower was not great.
There's a rooftop bar. I asked the cleaning staff where it was and they did not know - maybe because it is in a separate building. When we found it, the drinks were really weak/not good.
There was a wedding that weekend, so it would be randomly crowded as they were in the lobby quite a bit.
On the positive side, the location is central for Asbury Park and the pool has a bar that serves really great frozen drinks. That one drink was the only highlight of the stay for me.
