Made to feel welcome from the minute I checked in. Great friendly service from every member of staff I came in contact with. Breakfast was one of the best I have had. Definitely stay here again

Easy and convenient parking. Friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent restaurant with great options for the whole family. The room was clean but hot as we happened to be there on a rare hot day. We had dinner there and the breakfast included with our stay was great. Many options for breakfast and were all popular with our family. Thank you.

Issues with wi-fi and shower

Excellent food and room was comfortable but wi-fi in the room was awful and the shower appeared to have only two Settings - ice cold or cold - even turned up To the hottest setting the water was cold.

Pleasant saty - staff very friendly - breakfast service not so good but portions were huge and food very good. Also the set time for breakfast was alwkward given all early slots went and I needed to be as early as possible to get to work.

Williams family stay

We stayed in a large family room with lots a space for a family of 5. The room was large and clean bathroom was good size and clean kids all had there own beds my only issue was our bed was a little on the hard side for me but everyone’s preferences are different so I wouldn’t necessarily mark it down on this. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area. We will be back again for sure.

Convenient if you're in the area

Pleasant place to stay and located in a quiet area. The rooms are immaculately clean, warm and have everything you need. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is nice and fresh with ample choice. We have stayed twice at this location, although we prefered the seperate annex, rather than the main building. We were in room 8 on our last visit. It is above the dining room, so was rather noisy on an evening and during breakfast time. The room itself was lovely, but soundproofing could be better.

No hot water for shower. When staff was informed, they said they'll fix it, although this only benefit the next guest. No offer of hot shower elsewhere or reduction to bill etc. Disapointing.

Great for leisure, no Wi-Fi in room for business

Excellent food, excellent room and very good location for my needs BUT no wifi in room. After multiple restarts of the kit and three conversations in two days I was left with the clear impression that the walls in room 1 (courtyard suite) are too thick for the Wi-Fi to reach… this is the only negative in a lovely room and hotel, but meant I couldn’t work and have calls in the office of the room as planned, and had to sit in the reception / lobby instead.

Overall, for lone traveller; an unsafe experience

Hotel was clean. This hotel would benefit from having a lone traveller policy. I lone travel for work, stayed at the hotel on one other occasion, but will not be back due to lack of basic safety knowledge from staff. On check in two men checked in before me and remained in reception. My key was given room number side up, reception then said room number aloud. Bedrooms are opposite the pub, across the car park. My room was on ground floor between both men room, in a corner. Lighting in corridor did not work, making entering the room a vulnerable experience. Door to room did not have peep hole nor inside lock or chain. When paying for my meal barmaid asked for my room number. I explained I did not have a tab open. She said she had to have the room number. Bar was full of men, I had to state I was not giving out my room number in a bar full of men I did not know. That silenced the whole area. Wrote my room number on a pad. No explanation as to why a room number was needed in a pub that caters for people who are not staying overnight. Overall, for a lone woman traveller, an unsafe experience

The room was clean , modern , ground floor not having to take luggage up steps. The bar had good mix of beers. The food was excellent. Would highly recommend

Was a lovely room and food was decent, not much options for gluten free, but was okay. If you intend on using the bar be mindful if your are too loud laughing you will be told to hush :( x

Overall a great stay and we'll go again given the opportunity, even if the shower was a bit tricky. Really friendly staff, evening dinner and breakfast delicious with big portions, even a small portion of the Cumbrian kept us going the whole day.

Great place to stay! Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Ensuite was functional, liked the bath! Breakfast was tasty and menu had plenty of options. Will definitely return in the future!
