Lovely all round

Dinner was amazing, best hotel food we’ve had. Warm and friendly staff with a nice spacious and clean room. Beautiful view just topped off the stay. Would definitely stay again :)

lovely stay

the food was amazing and everything was up to standard. the rooms were lovely, big and clean. the only issues i had was the bed was not the most comfortable, me and my partner both struggled to sleep. we were also not given any big towels in the room for showers and on the first day we only got 1 big towel

We stayed at The Pilgrim Hotel, for a weekend break. Check in was easy and made welcome by friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant every night and the food was amazing, and served with a smile.

The welcome was somewhat confusing, after waiting a while we were greeted by a man "what are you here for" ... strange thing to say when you turn up to a hotel. so basically not the friendly response you would imagine. the hotel was old and a little run down, some areas have started to be renovated. My room was unfort The food was amazing and definitely the highlight of the stay.

I read reviews beforehand that said hotel was tired/dated. More rustic charm. Room and bathroom were really spacious and spotless. The staff were attentive and friendly. Food was lovely especially the venison burger and chilli beef. Perfect location if visiting Oldfield Forge. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely visit again.

A surprising gem!

Thoroughly surprised at how lovely this place was. Wasn't expecting too much for the price (I paid £53 for the room) but it was lovely! Staff were attentive and polite and couldn't help enough. Paid extra for breakfast which was great value for money as the quality of the ingredients were superb. Beds are incredibly comfy and lovely large bath sheets too! Would definitely stay again.

Worth another visit.

We were very pleased with the Pilgrim Hotel. Room was a good size, clean, and comfortable bed. Bathroom clean and good shower. Breakfast was good and a there was a varied menu for evening meals. Staff very friendly and helpful.

A lovely stay with friendly staff

We were greeted with a very friendly welcome - I normally travel a lot for work and haven't been greeted with such friendliness at any hotel on a long time - its normally very formal and regimented so this was refreshing. The entire hotel was really clean and had so much character. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Breakfast was lovely too.

Rooms large. 4 poster bed needs to have legs shortened 75mm. Dated but adequate. Food excellent.

We stayed at the hotel for one night. It had everything we wanted for our stay. Food excellent . Staff helpful and friendly Location good. We was at the front of the hotel so found the traffic a bit noisy but i am a very light sleeper.
