Gem of a past time

Step back in time and enjoy a bit of local history. The inn has been kept up to date without losing the uniqueness of it's story. The owners are delightful and more than willing to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and fresh.

Buffalo Tavern is a beautiful historic home in a peaceful mountain setting. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is amazing, and the front porch sittin' is good for the soul. We will definitely be going back. Susan and Paps have a very special place.

Truly wonderful time with Paps and Susan. Great Breakfast every day and homemade cake etc everyday! Not to mention the beautiful environs of the Tavern and the unique rooms. Will be back soon!

Rural property in the country with a long and interesting history. The hosts were wonderful and the sit down 8:30 breakfast was excellent. Took a prepared lunch with me that was also excellent. Very nice corner room, well appointed with a lot of character. The price is reasonable and I couldn’t recommend the inn more. I’ll return.

Beautiful B&B

Beautiful B&B close to West Jefferson. We stayed at the Buffalo Tavern B&B over the July 4th weekend. We were in town to visit family as my step-father was under hospice care and at the end of life. We just needed someplace to escape to and get some much needed sleep for a few hours between running back and forth to the family house to sit by his bedside in his final hours. The owner's Susan and Steve were wonderful and we had everything we needed. Our room was beautifully appointed, they had tea, coffee, soda & snacks provided and it was so quiet and very peaceful at the property which was just what we needed. It was so important to us to be able to get a good night's rest, a home cooked meal for breakfast, and sit on the front porch in the morning and listen to the birds and the sound of the stream and being able to escape the bedside vigil at the family home for a few hours. And due to COVID and us trying to be as careful as possible, we were able to eat breakfast on the table on the front porch to socially distance ourselves from the other guests. We hope we can return again soon under much better circumstances to have a real vacation.

Quaint and comfy

Nice and quiet stay. Good parking area. Breakfast is prix fixe and I would love to have had an option for a biscuit or toasted bread. Breakfast was delicious and of gourmet quality. I noticed that there were no tea bags available on the beverage table, but there was a Keurig with a tea selection.

Beautiful house with amazing history! We sat on the peaceful front porch for hours. Breakfast was delicious, beds were comfortable, and the hosts were excellent. Very cool experience!
